Helping those who can’t help themselves

What is this project all about?

With migrant workers being severely underrepresented, and often abused in Singapore, my project focuses on helping workers get access to resources they desperately need. Initially, I signed up to volunteer with local aid organizations – specifically It’s Raining Raincoats – and spent 50+ hours assisting workers alongside occasionally coordinating logistics over the weekend. After developing a thorough understanding of the workers’ requirements, I held a donation drive at my school which spanned over 4 months and resulted in 1800+ toiletries, water bottles and electronics being collected. Having achieved a considerable amount, this initiative is far from over. Looking to the future; I am currently creating a website which helps migrant workers understand their rights. Furthermore, I intend to keep volunteering and host further donation drives in schools and offices, I look forward to further expanding this initiative.
